Forge World Newsflash - 6th Ed Rules for Forgeworld Models

As always all the important information
===============================================

Hi there,

It’s been an exciting few weeks with the release first of the sixth edition of Warhammer 40,000, shortly followed by Imperial Armour Aeronautica and the fantastic new Avenger Strike Fighter.

Our Book Team have been hard at work creating a set of sixth edition update PDFs for our range of miniatures, to be used in conjunction with the printed rules that already exist for them. You can find our newly revised Vehicles, Psykers and Apocalypse updates online now. These have been amended to cover additional unit types and some specific situations and queries.

We’ve also restored the experimental rules for the following models:
Land Raider Proteus
Deimos Predator Executioner
Spartan Assault Tank
Space Marine Rapier
Chaos Decimator
Imperial Guard Rapier
Imperial Guard Heavy Artillery Carriages

We’re adding to these updates on a regular basis, and our aim is to expand them to cover many of the army lists we’ve published over the years. As always, if you have any queries about Imperial Armour rules, army lists or units, please send an e-mail, including examples of how this query has come up in play, entitled ‘Imperial Armour rules query’ to forgeworld@gwplc.com. You can also call 0115 900 4995 within the UK, 011 44 115 900 4995 from the US and Canada or 00 44 115 900 4995 from much of Europe.
Thanks, Ead Brown Customer Service Manager Forge World

hope those are of use to someone, the Rapiers are tempting me but not at £25 a go!

Help - Anyone recognise this model/scheme?

hi folks,
found this whilst browsing through my folders and was wondering if anyone knew who painted it and if they had a thread or blog?

I've looked through all the normal forums etc but cant find it, any assiatance would be great as I'm interested in seeing more of the model (i.e. the front) and getting a closer look as i think I've now found a scheme for my veterans.

Hobby Request - Looking for bits - Important

Hi folks,
Bit of an unusual request here for the blog. I'm trying to source some bits for my guard tanks, so far I have tried all the usual places but alas no joy. I'm trying to find the following parts:

Imperial guard chimera long track guard section.

Complete sets of chimera track guards - not the fw ones.

Rhino chassis headlights.

Predator sponson sight/sensor from the top of the weapon mount.

Landspeeder storm light.

Baneblade headlights.

If anyone can help out with any of these please please please let me know. I'm happy to trade anywhere as I need to get these bits to work on my tanks.
Thanks in advance

Forgeworld Avenger Possible Stats

Faeit212 has some info on the stats for this beastie over on the blog, however as everything is taken with a pinch of salt until confirmed by the masses here are the highlights:
  • 150pts + upgrades
  • 2 lascannons, heavy stubber and avenger bolter cannon
  • cannon stats: st6, ap3, heavy 7
  • can use bombs
  • can use multilasers, missile launchers and autcannons
  • cannot have the punisher cannons (bugger but if i modelled them I'm sure i could use them occasionally)
  • possibly AV12 but no confirmation
as I say until confirmed with the book in my hands this looks a good start, shame about the punisher cannons, also no mention on if it can add a second lot of las cannons, would be interesting.

so thoughts and feelings?

Forge World Newsletter #310 - New Avenger Flyer

This information is from the new article on the GW bog and gives a good solid look at the new flyer seen at recent gamesdays and mentioned in the contents for the new Forgeworld Flyers update. I have now added the gumpf and links with prices etc from the FW newsletter to the bottom of the post.
===============================================
It's time to don my scarf and flying goggles again because today a new aircraft makes it into the skies of the 41st Millennium - the Avenger Strike Fighter. As a staunch defender of the Imperium I was pleased to see an impressive number of guns mounted on the front of the the Avenger including the avenger bolt cannon - a high-Strength multi-barrelled affair that can tear up enemy planes (and even light vehicles) with ease. It'll also make quite a mess of Space Marines (traitor ones, of course).

At over nine inches long and with a nine inch wingspan, the Avenger is a pretty sizeable craft. Beneath its wings there's plenty of space to fit extra weaponry such as hellstrike missiles and multi-lasers just in case the bolt cannon and lascannons weren't enough firepower for you. To cap off this wonderfully detailed flying machine are two clear resin canopies that fit over the cockpit, which have been specially designed for the Avenger. There's also a cheeky heavy stubber peaking out the rear-facing secondary dorsal cockpit (we spend ages trying to find its technical name on the internet) to put a couple of holes in enemy craft that get too close.

And now the gumpf from Forgeworld:

Imperial Avenger Strike Fighter
The Avenger is a dedicated strike fighter, intended to conduct high-speed, low-level attacks on ground targets, with armoured vehicle formations and high-value strategic assets such as munitions dumps forming its principal prey. The Avenger Strike Fighter boasts firepower that exceeds most other Imperial aircraft of its size, and in particular its reputation as a tank-killer is due to the Avenger bolt cannon it carries.

The Avenger is an ancient design, believed to originate on Ancient Terra sometime during the Age of Strife. It was adopted by forces loyal to the Divine Saint Sebastian Thor during the bloody wars of faith now called the Age of Apostasy. Its effectiveness is such that it is now a staple of any Imperial Navy air support mission, holding a glamour of holy import in the wider Imperium. The Avenger is often specifically requested by the Adeptus Sororitas should they require close support in their purgations, whatever the truth of its providence.

The Avenger Strike Fighter is a finely-detailed multi-part resin kit designed by Daren Parrwood. The kit contains two crew figures and a fully detailed cockpit interior, and the two lascannons supplied with this kit can both be supplemented and replaced with other Forge World Imperial Navy weapons.
Full rules for the Avenger can be found in
Imperial Armour Aeronautica, and the kit is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 27th July.

So there you have it more details on the new flyer. A lot of people in the pics about have said they dont like this model, personally i like the effor they have put in to tying it in to the current Imperial Flyers, such as the vulture, by using similar wings and detailing. Certainly makes the case for the STC templates. Looks good and rocks some serious firepower. Might be tempted but would need to see costs and rules first.

Forge World Newsletter #309 - Imperial Armour Aeronautica and 6th Ed updates

As always the important bits reproduced below:
===============================================
Hi there, In this week’s newsletter we’re hot on the heels of the brand new Warhammer 40,000 rulebook with Imperial Armour Aeronautica, a book that covers our entire range of flyers and anti-aircraft units. We’ve also got a set of updates available to download that allow you to field all your Forge World models in the new edition – read on for more!

Imperial Armour Aeronautica
A brand new Forge World supplement book for Warhammer 40,000, Imperial Armour Aeronautica, written by Neil Wylie, contains fully updated 6th Edition rules for 34 flyers and 13 anti-aircraft units fielded by the Imperial Navy, Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, Tyranids, Tau Empire, Necrons, Dark Eldar and Chaos. These include complete rules for two brand new aircraft: the Space Marine Storm Eagle Assault Gunship and the Imperial Navy Avenger Strike Fighter.

In addition to the vehicle data sheets this book also provides you with the wargear and special rules unique to the terrifying airborne war engines of the 41st Millennium. Alongside these is a new narrative campaign, the Scourging of Kerrack, which provides six new missions specifically designed to incorporate aerial combat into your games of Warhammer 40,000 and Apocalypse, including detailed rules for developing Ace pilots over the course of the campaign. Also included is an Apocalypse rules appendix, updated for the 6th edition of Warhammer 40,000.

This 112-page, full colour, hardback book is lavishly illustrated with photographs and line drawings as well as campaign maps, and it is an indispensible reference for our full range of flyers and anti-aircraft units. Imperial Armour Aeronautica is available to pre-order now for despatch from 27th July.

Forge World 6th Edition Rules Updates The Imperial Armour team have been hard at work over the past week, compiling a set of PDF updates that allow our full range of models to be used in games of 6th edition Warhammer 40,000.
The first of these updates, which cover Warhammer 40,000 vehicles, and Apocalypse units are available to download now from our website. We are also excited to announce that experimental rules for the Spartan Assault Tank are now available to download as well. If you have any queries about Imperial Armour rules, army lists or units, please send an e-mail entitled 'Imperial Armour rules query' to forgeworld@gwplc.com, including examples of how the situation has arisen in play. You can also call 0115 900 4995 within the UK, 011 44 115 900 4995 from the US and Canada or 00 44 115 900 4995 from much of Europe.

Spotted - Possible New Forgeworld Necron Pics!

qudos to Imperius Dominatus (link here) for this rumour:

these maybe conversions, they may be one offs but given that they were spotted at GD Spain and they appear in the FW cabinet and there are other FW models shown in the picture they look promising. Who knows but I'm intrigued now Jono's collecting Crons.
