The First Heretic - Book Review

The First Heretic by Aaron Dembski-Bowden
Amidst the galaxy-wide war of the Great Crusade, the Emperor castigates the Word Bearers for their worship. Distraught at this judgement, Lorgar and his Legion seek another path while devastating world after world, venting their fury and fervour on the battlefield. Their search for a new purpose leads them to the edge of the material universe, where they meet ancient forces far more powerful than they could have imagined. Having set out to illuminate the Imperium, the corruption of Chaos takes hold and their path to damnation begins. Unbeknownst to the Word Bearers, their quest for truth contains the very roots of heresy…

CAUTION CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

First up I would like to apologise in advance for any spoilers or lack of plot details as I always struggle to review Horus Heresy books, mainly because even though we know the ultimate outcome I always want to tell people too much about them and this might stop people reading them as they feel they already know what’s happened and with this set of novels I would never want that to happen. I was a little worried about the book to begin with as which Aaron has written some great books some of his work has gone a shade wide of the mark. In The First Heretic, Aaron has written a very comprehensive and important book in the series and we are introduced to information that is both staggering and heartbreaking. I my eyes the 14th book in the series was excellent but the book for me was jam packed of information and events, the story that unfolds is passed on to us concisely and efficiently, the manner in which it came across was excellent and a great read, but for something as epic as what I can only describe as the first “true” falls to chaos the story could have played out further.

The First Heretic details the story of the Word Bearers chapter over nearly 60 years of the Great Crusade, continuing through the Isstvan V Massacre. Detailing the events largely through the eyes of 7th Company Captain Argel Tal, the novel details the fall of the Word Bearers legion from the initial setting off point at Monarchia, where Lorgar and his Word Bearers are abased before their lord, to the ultimate point of the Horus betrayal at Isstvan V.

The First Heretic has a very good opening gambit that sets up a running theme and a very human anchor point for the whole novel. From the eyes of a civilian on a world brought to compliance by the Word Bearers Legion you get to see a whole new side of the Emperor's finest. An invading force comes to the planet and forces them to evacuate or die, we lose sight of the invaders as what we would expect them to be and instead they become autonomous oppressors. To me this stark contrast to the standard noble warrior image really set the undercurrent and should have warned me about the shades of grey that we to come. The Word Bearers themselves are the epitome of that description, they are a space marine legion that is so unlike all the rest. Lorgar, Primarch of the XVII legion, is not the military genius and this is acknowledge throughout by him and other. Instead Lorgar is more of a priest, an ardent believer in the Emperor's divinity and is a rock for the faith of his legion.

This is a complicated book in many respects and also rushed in others. One thought to me is that The First Heretic is similar to Fulgrim and A Thousand Sons, in that it is a chronicling of the fall from grace of one of the Emperor's chosen sons. Unlike the other primarchs, Lorgar is a far less sympathetic character than both Fulgrim and Magnus. Lorgar's fall is much less pitiable as his naiveté and blind faith serve to betray him. That faith, and the nature of faith itself, serves to set this book above as not simply a science fiction novel but almost as a discussion of the human condition. Here there is a lot of good prose and stylistic uses of language to make the fall work, there are also great thoughts and ideas about the nature of fait and chaos but they are almost Too packed in to the book. This certainly doesn’t make it any less of a spectacular novel. The fall even though it takes 60 years is too rushed in the book to be almost believable but it still somehow works, don’t ask me how but it does. Annoyingly though for those of us that have followed the hobby and the fluff for a while as it’s known what happens its almost too predictable but there are plenty of nice twists and turns.

The characters are interesting, more so the Primarch, Argel Tal and the Lady are the most intriguing, the main contributors to the fall, Erebus and Kor Pheron are surprisingly too dimensional and in my opinion slightly underplayed. The First Heretic marks the first time themes beyond good and evil are explored to such an extent in a Black Library novel. The novel really does seem to be the first novel in the series that truly deals with the visceral nature of chaos and explores the changes on humanity and the history of the chaos worship. The other major and most intriguing parts of the novel are the hints and nods to the future of the warhammer universe. There are some major surprises and plot threads I would love to discuss and break down but in my mind they would ruin the novel and the enjoyment of the rest of the series, however they do leave me to hope that the series will do some work on what happened after just so these threads can be eked out.

My only major complaint is that unfortunately the Isstvan massacre is dealt with over three to four chapters but in my mind that just not enough. The massacre is the true point of no return and it pains me to see the only real information on it so far is very short. The massacre is one of the few action sequences in the book and it does work. It looks at the legions their primarchs and shows how their characters and traits effect one another, it also shows the burgeoning nature of the forces of the fallen and how their traits as we know them now are beginning to come to the fore. My only wish is that this part of the Horus Heresy is revisited in later novels and is given the chance to play out on the scale it deserves.

In my mind The Horus Heresy novels are quickly becoming the vessel for the Black Library to create `real' literature, to craft stories that examine those universal themes that turn books into literature and movies into films. The First Heretic leads the charge, and Aaron Dembski-Bowden's work is a wonderful entry to the Horus Heresy series and a superb piece of literature that should not be missed. This is a great step forward in the road to the end and is the best look at the emotional side of the fall so far. A great leap forward and a great instalment to the series. A full 5 stars from me.

tanks, Tanks, TANKS, TAAAANKS!?!

Today has truly being an interesting and busy day but alas some time was put away for the hobby and the blog so all is well in the world! In that time however a disturbing thought crossed the mind of Millest, and that thought was:

I have no plans for my tanks!!

Yes, that's right, whilst I have plans and ideas for my vehicle crew and a rough idea of what camo schemes to play with I haven't given any thought to what vehicles to use.

I've now spent the afternoon toying with ideas on what tanks to use, what kits to buy and most importantly what to save up for. Whilst the list wasn't extensive (but potentially expensive which is a downside) it did puzzle me for a while and in the end I did narrow it down to the following five choices:
  • Option A - Basic Leman Russes straight from the box
  • Option B - Basic Leman Russes straight from the box with FW death Korps of Krieg upgrades
  • Option C - Basic Leman Russes straight from the box with FW death Korps of Krieg upgrades and turrets
  • Option D - Death Korps of Krieg Complete Mars Alpha Russes kits with various turrets inc Ryza pattern Russ turrets
  • Option E - Death Korps of Krieg Complete Mars Alpha Russes kits with various turrets (specialist tanks such as demolisher etc) utilising plastic turrets for standard Russes from the kits included in the FW Russes
Now in my mind I think I have decided on a plan for my force of rolling Steal Death but I'm curious as to the solutions and thoughts that others might have so whilst I'm working this week and am sorting a few other bits and pieces for the blog please feel free to leave me your thoughts and comments, as well as your votes in my poll on the right hand side, as to what options you would pick.

After all what could be more exciting then helping me recreate this image in my own special way:

Forgeworld Newsletter #255 - Space Marine Explosion! Armoured Might!

Hi Folks
third post of the day and this one is the business! we have the latest Forgeworld newsletter and for any Marine Enthusiast this is brilliant, a small flood of new releases!

As always reproduced as fully as possible, Enjoy:

===============================================

Hi There,
This week’s Newsletter brings you a fresh wave of Space Marine kits to pre-order, along with two more A4 Transfer Sheets packed with vehicle and infantry decals and a reminder of our Christmas shipping deadlines and opening times.
Thanks, Ead Brown

Land Raider Achilles Available to Pre-Order Now
The first of our new wave of Space Marine releases is the devastatingly powerful Land Raider Achilles. This resin and plastic hybrid kit, designed by Stuart Williamson, boasts sponson-mounted twin Multi-Meltas and a hull-mounted Thunderfire Cannon. A line-breaker beyond compare, the Land Raider Achilles’ firepower is capable of forcing a breach in even the strongest defences at the tip of an armoured assault.
Originating in the closing years of the Great Crusade, the Achilles is perhaps the rarest and most venerable Land Raider variant still used on the battlefields of the 41st Millenium. It was originally created by the Imperial Fists Legion in response to a dire xenos threat now lost to the mists of history, and fittingly rare outside the noble Imperial Fists, their successors and the Ordo Reductor of the Adeptus Mechanus. The Achilles is perhaps most vaunted for its legendary durability - each stage of the hull’s construction incorporates layer upon layer of ancient electromagnetic algorithms and ferromantic incantations. This arcane lore is etched into the very structure of the Land Raider Achilles at a molecular level, and is one the most secret and ancient rites of the Cult Mechanicus.

The Land Raider Achilles is a complete resin and plastic kit, and is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing December 6th, and is included in the Space Marine Siege Assault Vanguard army list in the forthcoming Imperial Armour Volume 10: The Badab War Part II. As an exclusive extra, we have prised the rules for the Achilles from Alan Bligh’s grasp and they are available to download for free here.

Forge World MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought and Arms Available to Pre-Order Now
The latest addition to our range of MkIV Dreadnoughts is the siege specialist MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought, MkIV Hurricane Bolter, MkIV Seismic Hammer and MkIV Chainfist. These full resin kits, designed by Phil Stutcinskas, afford Space Marine players the complete range of Codex options for the Ironclad Dreadnought. Heavily augmented and outfitted for siege assault and ship boarding actions, the Ironclad Dreadnought sacrifices versatility and long-range firepower for even greater armoured defence and dedicated siege weaponry such as the Seismic Hammer and Chainfist, designed to pulverise the toughest bastion or armoured bulkhead into twisted wreckage. The fearsome short-ranged firepower of a Hurricane Bolter is often used to augment the Ironclad’s firepower, allowing the ancient hero within the sarcophagus to saturate breached defences with a deadly storm of bolter shells. The MkIV Ironclad Dreadnought is a full resin kit that comes complete with Hunter Killer Missiles and Frag Assault Launchers, furthering the Ironclad’s potent weaponry, as well as additional armour plates to fit the resin MkIV Hurricane Bolter, MkIV Seismic Hammer and MkIV Chainfist and our other MkIV Dreadnought arms. Each of these detailed kits is available to pre-order now for despatch in the week commencing December 6th.

New Space Marine Transfer Sheets Available to Pre-Order Now

Blog News - The one where they clear the Old for the New!!

Hi Folks This week there has not been any progress in the world of Warhammer 40000 for me! Real life sucks as does starting work at 3 am til 4 pm, but needs must.

In lieu of painting and modelling though I have decided to have a spring clean of the hobby room and have decided to part ways with a huge number of Warhammer (both 40,000 and Fantasy) books as well as sort through and clear out some of my older White Dwarf Magazines and Inferno magazines.

I know its a bit of a plug but hell I need to fund my addition to all things 40k! Besides its my blog :) For those of you interested the Warhammer Fantasy books, the Mordheim rulebook, Warhammer Quest and some 40k buts and pieces can all be found on my EBay page here:
Millests Misc Sales!!

If anyone is interested in some of the white dwarfs they are all UK versions and I have most from 170 through to 276 as well as Inferno magazine issues 3, 4 and 5. If you are interested let me know and via email (on the left of the blog) and I will send you the list and details.

hope to have some more painting soon and hopefully some more funds to get some more Cadians and Vehicles ready for more work!

Thanks for taking the time to browse through this post.

Imperial Guard updates - Poll Results

Hi folks, its 4.40 am UK time and I'm now over the first hour at work and its not looking like its going to end anytime soon. So whilst the other teams are doing their testing for me I thought now was a great time to update you all on the Imperial Guard vote on the two test models. I promised once the polls closed to reveal all so here goes!

In the polls I asked you which of the following two models was best and which I painted, so as a quick refresher here are the models once again:

I didn't receive too many votes (only five on each poll) but for those of you that voted a big thank you for taking the time, so here are the results of those votes:
So dealing with the first question first, I can reveal that 60% of you thought model 2 was best. so thanks for your honest voting and any feedback on your votes would be great.

The second question asked you which of the two I painted and which of the two the staffer painted, I can now reveal that an amazing 40% of you were right! I painted model 1, the worst of the two models - unfortunately - however I am pleased with the results considering my previous painting 7+ years ago only ever got as far as thick colours and no inks, washes or highlighting.

All in all though I'm happy with the voting results and I'm happy that people did seem to like my work, it can only get better and I can now work with the scheme I have to improve it. Some of the plans for the future involve possibly lightening the grey a tad as at the minute unless the model is in bright light it looks very dark, I also plan at looking on how to tie the vehicles to the force using similar colours and patterns.

Finally any suggestions or assistance on drafting a 1500 point list that could combat Marines, Tau or Eldar would be much appreciated, then I can tailor it to deal with kroot mercs later on

Enjoy folks and hope to have the first completed "teether" squad up soon.

##################################################

UPDATE:

A few folks have emailed me direct or PM'd me on some of the forums I'm on asking about lightening up the fatigues on these guys and why it needs it. Below to help answer that is a picture of the two models taken without a flash and just using the ambient light from a 40w (my arse is it!) energy saver bulb and as you can see the models love extrememly dark:

To me they seem very dark, almost black in this light! I would keep the armour the same shade but would probably like to lighten the fatigues up at least a touch. Any thoughts on that suggestion?

Hobby News - Stormraven Sneak peek!!! Its finally here!!!

Looks like GW let the cat out of the bag and here is the first look at the new Stormraven model:

OK so there are some serious questions over the origins of the model, is it a kit bash, is it pre production?? No one is quite sure but given its based on studio terrain with the studio BA army my bet is this is the finished and up coming model. certainly looks interesting and cant wait to get hold of one if that's the case! any thoughts?

Imperial Gaurd Updates - A day of firsts!!

Well folks today I finally took the plunge and did three things I haven't done in a while, with rather pleasing results! I recently decided as I hadn't painted in a while rather then go in blind I thought it a good idea to book a refresher at the local GW store.

Today I headed in to the store and did the first thing I haven't done in a while, which was to visit a GW store. Once inside I met the new store manager, an avid Guard player with too much money and too many armies! Got a chance to look at some of the new scenery and models as well as have a drool over the display armies and the silver Golden Daemon entry in the cabinets.

Once there and settled I did the second thing I haven't done in a while and that's to paint. I must say it was a joy to get some good honest advice and to meet some of the new regulars and gamers as well. The guys and gals (and no I'm not making that up) also took time to look at some of my conversions, most of which have already appeared on the blog and gave some good honest feed back, most if not all of which was positive. I was please when i found that once i was painting the advice given was simple, constructive, patient and helped explain the new foundation paints and the new washes. I found that the techniques I was using weren't new to me and that I simply needed some gentle coaching to wake me up to what I was doing.

The final thing I did today was to actually buy something in a GW store. OK so I was a little bit shocked at the prices now I was pleased that the guys in the store didn't jump on me and suggest I buy everything they were happy just to get me the bits I asked for. A nice change and despite the price differences definitely an improvement on the old style of the stores.

OK so I bet your all wanting to know how I got on with the painting and what it looks like, well its coming up in a second after a brief explanation of what you ll see, but I'm also going to be sneaky and make you all try to work it out! When I went in rather than get a box of Cadians and make a few up, thus meaning i couldn't base them properly, I thought it a good idea to use some of my at ease Cadians as this would give me a clear view of the whole model and what I needed to do and where. So here below are the two models painted today as test models for the force, one by me and one by the store manager. Your mission using either comments or the poll on the side of the blog is to let me know which one is the best model in the first poll and then in the second poll to let me know which one is mine and which one is the store managers!

So here are the front and back pics, the models were rotated not swapped so the model on the right in the top picture is still the model in the right on the bottom picture.

So there you have it, my attempts and the managers attempts, Below is a picture of them from a little farther away to give you an idea of what they look like from a gaming perspective so just let me know.

Please vote in the polls or place your comment below to let me know which is best and who you think did which guardsman.

Comments, criticisms, praise, tips and advice are all gratefully received, please don't hold back, feel free to comment.

Finally I'm also looking for good options for urban bases for the force, if anyone knows of any sellers that do good value detailed city fight style bases for the force (and eventually for the marines too) please let me know as I would like to get a decent set that are easily recognisable, customisable and affordable. Any ideas please let me know.

Enjoy

Sabbat Worlds Anthology - Book Review

Sabbat Worlds Anthology - Abnett, McNeill, Mitchell & others
Across the Sabbat Worlds, a bitter conflict is fought, a conflict that can only end in victory or annihilation. The innumerable forces of the Arch enemy attack without mercy, and planet after planet burns with the flames of war. Yet even amidst this nightmare, the Imperial Guard stand stoic against their foes. The Phantine Air Corps battle the enemies of mankind across burning skies, while the Gereon resistance tries to break the foothold of Chaos on their beleaguered world and the legendary Gaunt’s Ghosts fight in the most violent and bloody of warzones. This anthology opens the gateway to the Sabbat Worlds like never before, featuring new stories from some of the Black Library’s best-known authors including Dan Abnett, Graham McNeill, Aaron Dembski-Bowden and many more.

CAUTION CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

For those of you unaware the history behind this compilation is one of a somewhat touching nature for GW, as you may be aware Dan Abnett found out last year that he was suffering with late onset epilepsy, so not only did this cause havoc in a major way for his life but it also impacted his writing, which quite rightly took a back seat. AS an homage and nod to Dan Abnett the Black Library have put together an anthology of work dedicated to the world Dan Abnett has created, more specifically the Sabbat World’s Crusade. The book is pulled from the authors in the Black Library that Dan Abnett admires the most and feels would make some of the worthwhile contributions to the background of the Crusade.

The Sabbat Worlds Anthology was edited by Dan Abnett and there are a couple of pieces from new pieces in the book from him as well. The work by Dan comprises of two stories, the first may have originally being published as a chapbook for Games Day UK (though I can’t remember which one) and the second is a completely new story that fits between the two first novels and creates an excellent bridge and helps answer some of the questions and histories.

The book is set out nicely with a touching introduction and narrative from Dan about his life and the troubles he has faced, he also explains the rationale for the book and his input in to it. Each story is prefaced with a brief introduction to the story and the writer, explain why he admires them and why he thinks their work fits well in to the Sabbat Worlds story. Dan quite rightly picks some of the biggest names in the Black Library, Graham McNeil, Aaron Dempski-Bowden and Sandy Mitchell. As well as some of the more less well known authors, including Dan’s very own good lady who does a stellar job with her story. Dan has left the writers with one hell of a challenge and I personally think they all for the most part have done an excellent job.

Apostle’s Creed by Graham McNeill
The first story re-visits the territory of one of Dan’s greatest stand alone novels, Double Eagle, this follows one of the key characters from that book and leading members of the Phantine squadron as she adjusts to life as a member of the Apostles! Whilst Graham McNeill does an excellent job of recreating Abnetts fine work Double Eagle is far and away the seminal 40k air battle work.

McNeill does an excellent job however fitting the Apostles in to a new warzone and exploring the WWI aces attitude (think of the movie fly boys) and fitting it to the 40 universe, a crossover that works well. This short story explores what it takes to become an ace and to survive the cut throat world of combat in the 41st millennium. It also explores the human side of loss and coping and looks at how morals and attitudes change when in extreme conditions. The novel is well written and it transposes well, the combat scenes are fast paced and quite rightly use many of the terms Abnett invented for 40k air combat in their narrative. The story is a worthy follow on to Double Eagle and would have fitted well in the end of the recent reprint

The Headstone and the Hammerstone Kings by Matthew Farrer
The next story follows the cleanup of a world and the removal of the machines of the arch enemy, however the arch enemy forces have other plans. This explores a raid on a machine dump from the point of view of several visiting dignitaries. The novel gives a view of the bureaucracy and pettiness of some of the worlds politicians but soon shows that when under stressful combat some of them are much more able then they are given credit for. The book is fast paced and gets to the action quickly. The actions of the raiders are over shadowed by the presence of the machines and the manner in which they and the story are dealt with seems purposefully confusing in places, this adds to the stories flow and makes the idea of a surprise raid more tangible. Whilst the Adeptus Mechanicus are involved their part is understated and could have being pushed more, the twist at the end also means no doubt we will see a full novel or at least an appearance from the Kings in the future.

Regicide by Aaron Dembski-Bowden
The life and times of Slaydo! That is all this can be described as without giving the story away. To give you some idea of this, one of Slaydo’s bodyguards is captured and tortured by a member of the Chaos forces and is asked to recount recent events in his words. This story works well as the language is clean and concise (much like the man it portraits) and doesn’t mess about. I don’t want to give any more away as this would ruin a very interesting piece of back ground on events in the crusade.

The Iron Star by Dan Abnett
The first piece by Dan Abnett in the book and the first Ghosts piece (no one else could write about the Ghosts and I’m glad no one else tried!), this novella apparently appeared elsewhere but if don’t recall ever reading it. It explores the mind of Gaunt following an action that has left him wounded and drifting in and out of consciousness (and sanity). The story is written much like the plot, in a confused and often semi lucid style but the ideas and memories it draws on help tie the thread back to some of the older novels. It’s an extremely well written piece of in depth character analysis and develops and shows many of Gaunts facets, a great piece of writing.

Cell by Nik Vincent
Written but Dan Abnetts other half the story is set on a world occupied by the forces of chaos this story looks at the lives and actions of resistance fighters as they battle from within. The story looks at the betrayals and sacrifices made by the fighters and their contacts. The twists and turns make the story a good read and really fits in with the ethos of the crusade and the back grounds of the universe. Well written, some good moments of action and a nice flow the story is enjoyable with a satisfying twist at the end of the story.

Blueblood by Nick Kyme
After being forced to the side lines the Bluebloods are posted to a back water world to recover and recuperate (i.e. their getting pushed out of the fight) as well as work to clear the world from the remaining forces. The story looks at how the influence of the forces of darkness can be spread. Meeting some of the previous characters from the earlier Ghosts novels the story looks at their “fall from grace” and their resurgence. The combat scenes Nick writes are fast paced and well written with some excellent descriptive language.

A Good Man by Sandy Mitchell
A good short detective story this story explores the inner workings of the bureaucracy on a recovered world and the ways in which it is investigated. A short thriller that It looks at the investigation in to a missing adept on a recently recaptured and reprocessed world. The story whilst serious does on more than one occasion hint at the great comedic writing Sandy Mitchell is usually known for but this story definitely shows he can handle the mundane as easily as the humorous. A great short story and one that explores some of the very human side effects of war and one that looks at what some people will do to feel they are helping and how easily that help can become dangerous.

Of Their Lives in the Ruins of Their Cities by Dan Abnett
A new short story from Dan Abnett set between the first two books I think this explores the growing relationship between Gaunt and the men and how things were often even less peachy then the mess we see in the early Ghosts novels. Dan returns to great form with this short story and if this is anything to go by we will certainly be seeing some great novels over the next year. The book looks at Gaunt running a small mission with some of the Ghosts and him learning their field craft and ways, unfortunately the hard way. It also looks at him starting to form relationships with those Ghosts that are willing to listen and understand what he’s done and is doing. The story has some great combat and some really nice prose. As with every story or novel Dan has written (including his Durham Red work) this is amazingly readable and a great story, almost worth getting the novel just for this story alone, a great return to form.

The novel is a great compilation of stories that really fit in to the idea of the Sabbat Crusades and really help give more insight in to the whole background of the area and the battles. Each and every one of the writers does Dan and the Crusade a great service by writing some excellent short stories. Dan returns to great form with his short story and the whole novel is a great tribute to him and his work. A great read and this is a real must have for anyone, be you a ghosts fan or otherwise, this novel is great and covers a huge variety of different aspects of the 40k universe. This book quite rightly receives a solid 5 out of 5 stars and the biggest recommendation I can give to go out and buy it as soon as possible. Excellent book, superb and you need it!!!

Eldar Hornet Available to Pre-Order Now
The Eldar Hornet, designed by Daren Parrwood, is a brand-new addition to the Eldar range. One of several new Eldar units that will feature in the forthcoming Imperial Armour Volume 11, this complete resin kit may be armed with a full range of Eldar weaponry and is supplied with two resin Pulse Lasers, and a plastic Eldar heavy weapon sprue, to allow you to refine its potent weaponry to a specific battlefield role.
The Hornet is a light tank employed by Eldar armoured forces in a fast reconnaissance and raiding role. Piloted by a single crewman, it can be found in the forefront of Eldar aspect warrior assault waves, speeding ahead of heavier Falcons and Wave Serpents and often operating alongside other high-speed attack craft such as jetbikes and Vypers.
The Eldar Hornet is available to pre-order now for dispatch in the week commencing the 29th of November. Imperial Armour writer Warwick Kinrade has put together a set of experimental rules for the Hornet which can be downloaded for free here.

The Iron Hands and Imperial/Crimson Fists frames are packed with intricate symbols, Chapter and Company markings, scroll work and Imperial Aquilae that can be used to decorate your Space Marine vehicles and infantry, as you can see in the images on the Forge World website

The Ork Glyphs frame provides a huge range of Ork pictograms with which to embellish the vehicles, armour and banners of your Clans to suitably insult your foes. Just login to Your Account and you’ll see an option to View Wishlists – simply browse through our online store and click the ‘add to wishlist’ button on each item’s page. Once you’ve found all the gifts you’re after, just e-mail it to all of your friends and family and wait for Christmas morning.

===============================================

As always recreated with the normal caveats! Must say nice to see that the marines don't steal all the limelight this month and some other races get a look in. The Eldar light tank looks good, suitably elegant enough to be classed as eldar. Also like the simple logic FW have used on the Ork brass etch, giving use to the dead space on the edge of the sprue is a great idea, cuts down on waste and almost helps justify the cost.
A good news letter, though lets just hope there is more Badab war stuff in the next issue :)
