Following on from the MICH 2000 we have my newest addition, I have recently picked up an OPs Core Fast helmet. This doesnt need too much work but theres enough to do to make it fun, the helmet and its accompaniments was a good buy as you can see:
the first thing to do though is to spray the helmet, as you can see its very dark brown rather then tan. Once done its time to add the velcro and then adjust the pads inside to fit the new replica peltors i have picked up. In addition there is the surefire light and the v-lite from the other helmet to fit on here too. The helmet is a nice fit and the new suspension system they have replicated in it is very comfy.
Once the weathers better I will be able to spray and all being well that will be after christmas day.
hope you like.
Millest's Wargaming Blog! It will no doubt end up becoming a place for my own odd thoughts! However its meant to start life as a Wargaming, hobby and painting blog. It will also be a book review site, a bit of a product review page, an airsoft blog and in places lots of other things, but over all I hope it will be a good read!

Airsoft Armoury - MICH 2000 Helmet Work in Progress
Hi folks,
as an expansion on the airsoft armoury theme I've decided to share some of my kit projects with you. At the moment I'm in the process of upgrading all my kit, I have recently moved on to Multicam kit (more details in a later post) so with that in mind I have decided to update my helmet collection.
First up is my old MICH 200, as you can see this is a bog standard olive coloured helmet made from fibreglass.
nothing special I know but to improve it and bring it more in line with current trends and helmet tech I have this little lot to add to the beastie:
my first improvement will be to spray the helmet with a skin style pattern (the scrim is for that) before adding the following accessories:
Any questions on the helmet, parts or anything please let me know.

Forge World Newsletter #328 - Lightning Fighter, Justaerin Terminators and Mk IV weapons
As always all the important bits below:
=========================================
Hi there,
It’s now only a few days until Christmas, but there’s no respite
here at Forge World. We’ll be working throughout the festive period, and our
opening times are listed later in today’s newsletter. First, though, we’re
excited to announce no less than five fantastic releases, all of which are available
to pre-order now for despatch
early in the New Year!
Voss Pattern
Lightning Strike Fighter
Following the Saint-Saen Crusade’s liberation of twelve worlds in the Segmentum Obscurus, STC patterns were recovered for an air superiority fighter, smaller and more agile than the iconic Thunderbolt. The Lightning has since been disseminated to other worlds with strong ties to the Imperial Navy – notably Bakka and Hydraphur – and production has recently begun within the Segmentum Solar, resulting in the Voss Pattern Lightning Strike Fighter.

The ‘Strike’ variant of
the Lightning is equipped with a potent armament of six Hellstrike missiles as
well as its twin-linked lascannon, fulfilling a dedicated ground attack role.
Designed by Daren Parrwood, the Voss Pattern Lightning Strike
Fighter is a detailed multi-part resin kit, supplied with a twin-linked
lascannon and six Hellstrike missiles. This model is fielded using the rules
for the Lightning, which can be found in Imperial Armour Aeronautica.
Sons of Horus
Justaerin Terminators and Justaerin Weapon Set
The black-armoured Justaerin were the pride of the XVI Legion Astartes. Tasked with forming the ‘point of the spear’, their attacks were directed at the heart of an opposing target or a decapitation strike against an enemy force. The Justaerin and their commander, First Captain Ezekyle Abaddon, were early proponents of Tactical Dreadnought armour, and many entered combat in singularly-modified Cataphractii pattern Terminator plate.

Designed by Will Hayes, the Justaerin Terminators set contains five detailed multi-part
resin models, each packed with Legion-specific iconography. Will has also
designed a Justaerin Weapons Set, which contains a multi-melta, four
Phobos-pattern combi-bolters and five Cthonian-pattern power axes. The
Justaerin bodies can be combined
with our Cataphractii Power Fists, Power Axes and Special Weapons sets as well as the new Justaerin
weapons, allowing for a huge variety of modelling options.
Full rules and background for
using the Justaerin can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal, and if you want to discover more
about these elite warriors and their Legion, we recommend the Black Library
classic Horus Rising and an exclusive audio short from the

Emperor’s Children Legion Brass Etch
Symbols
Uniquely amongst the Legiones Astartes, the Emperor’s Children, and their primarch Fulgrim, were granted the singular honour of bearing the Palatine Aquila upon their chestplates. The Master of Mankind’s personal heraldry was otherwise only granted to the most legendary heroes of the Imperium.

money that will soon be burning a hole in your pocket.
=========================================
The HH kits as always are frigging amazing but i am really loving the new pattern lightning, something about it is just hardcore, shame i cant quite figure out a way to get one (or two) in my list, but my faithful vulture and valkyries are enough airpower for me at a minute.

Forge World Newsletter #327 - Imperial Armour Volume One – Second Edition: Imperial Guard
As
always all the important bits below:
=========================================
Hi there, The very first
of our large Imperial Armour books returns to our online store this week in a
fully revised and updated edition. Imperial
Armour Volume One – Second Edition: Imperial Guard is available to
order now and as we’re on the very cusp of December, we’ve also got a reminder
in today’s newsletter of our upcoming order deadlines for pre-Christmas
delivery.
Imperial
Armour Volume One - Second Edition: Imperial Guard
Here at Forge World we've always loved
tanks, and from our very earliest beginnings it is the massed ranks of the
Imperial Guard that have inspired many of our hobbyists to take to the field of
battle. This week sees the return of the very first large Imperial Armour book
to our range, rewritten and expanded to be fully compatible with the 6th
Edition of Warhammer 40,000.
Imperial Armour Volume One - Second
Edition: Imperial Guard
is a book dedicated to the fighting vehicles of the Imperial Guard; the
steel-clad behemoths that rumble and clank their way across the battlefields of
the far future, unleashing fire and shell at the enemies of Mankind. Inside
this 294-page book, the full panoply of Imperial Guard armoured vehicles are displayed in exhaustive detail,
including profiles and rules for over fifty tanks, support vehicles, artillery
pieces and super-heavy vehicles, alongside extensive background material on
these war machines, their munitions and manufacture. You can find a full list
of contents here.
In addition to this wealth of
information, the
book also includes a full army list that allows you to field the sledgehammer
of Imperial military power: the Imperial Guard Armoured Battlegroup. On top of
this are also rules for some of the most famous Tank Aces of the Imperium
including General Grizmund of the 1st Narmenian Armoured
Regiment, made famous in New
York Times-bestselling author Dan Abnett’s Gaunt’s Ghosts novel Necropolis (also available in e-book format).
Imperial Armour Volume One – Second Edition:
Imperial Guard is available to
order now for immediate despatch, and we can still guarantee pre-Christmas
delivery worldwide.
=========================================
nice to see the book getting an update for the new rulesset, having to think about it though whereas normally i would go out and get this straight away. Its nice for the guard to get some love but im really hoping they get some HH love for the imperial army underway soon.

Millest’s Monthly Workbench - 28.11.12
Millest’s
Monthly Workbench
So folks after debating it on a few of the news groups, forums and facebook pages, as well as with some advice from some of you guys on the blog I have decided to drop the workbench commitments from fortnightly to monthly. It has been suggested by others using this format to get things done that fortnightly doesnt give time to get things dont and your more likely to become overwhelmed (and i agree) so I have decided to set more realistic targets for myself of monthly goals. So time for the first realistic goal (I hope).
Workbench update
Once again the previous two weeks for me were very busy with not only Dan's (the blogs resident ultramarine player) wedding but with general work. Happily all the reading slated for completion, Flesh of Cretacia, Old soliders never die and the Black Library Weekender Volumes 1 and 2, was finished as expected. In addition I have made a start on Tome of Fire this week and am looking forward to completing it.
Unfortunately however the physical hobby side of things didnt pan out the way I wanted with only the additional turrets getting built. The main bodies of the tanks are still on sprues so this will roll over to this commitment.
Workbench commitment for December 2012
So once again this fortnight we have the chimera, once their completed I shall see about getting some pics on the blog.
Again more reading in the form of Tome of Fire and The Seige of Castellax on the horizon, not only that but i have just ordered the new campaign book and hopefully that should be here soon.
This month also sees some Airsoft action taking place. Not only will i be removing the airsoft trades from my toys, so expect some new pictures of my rifles for the airsoft armoury, but I also intend to Start work on my new helmet and bringing my old mich up to date with a new paint scheme and the latest accessories. I wont post pictures of them here but i will be posting some pre and post pictures over the week, This work is unfortunately dependant on parts coming from overseas for the Mich (and to a lesser degree on the fast helmet) but all being well we should have some progress soon. This does also mean i need to sort out my remaining kit and the parts from my helmets etc i wont use and sell them (so if anyone needs anything let me know and i can let you have a list) to help cover the costs of other parts i need.
So this months commitment consists of the following:
- Tome of Fire
- Ther Siege of Castellax
- Build 2 x chimera
- remove trades from 2 x rifle
- assemble and complete fast ops helmet
- strip and start updating mich
- sell no longer used airsoft kit
Thanks

to help you amass your own Horus Heresy Legion force. These bundles will only
be available for a limited time, and with the first of the Christmas delivery deadlines
today, we recommend that you get your order in quickly.
MkII,
MkIII and MkIV Legion Tactical Squads Sets
The mainstay of any Legion is its
Tactical squads; serried ranks of bolter-equipped Space Marines capable of
crushing almost any foe that stands against them.
We have put together three
Tactical squads sets, each of which allows you to build two squads as the
compulsory Troops choices for a Legion force. The Legion MkII
Tactical Squad, Legion MkIII
Tactical Squad and Legion MkIV
Tactical Squad sets comprise thirty power armoured Space Marines,
thirty bolters and a set of Command Upgrade parts for the relevant armour mark.
Legion Cataphractii Terminators Sets
Every Legion maintains a cadre of veterans within its ranks, and the most experienced of these deadly warriors often take to the field of battle clad in the near-unstoppable protection of Cataphractii-pattern Terminator armour.

Legion
Contemptor Dreadnought Talon
Terribly wounded and interred within
an advanced life-support sarcophagus, the Dreadnoughts of a Space Marine Legion
endure for centuries, perhaps even millennia, a tangible link to past glories
and an incredibly powerful battlefield presence. Contemptor-pattern
Dreadnoughts are immensely powerful, capable of fielding potent weaponry and
protected by flickering energy fields.
The Legion
Contemptor Dreadnought Talon is a potent Elites choice in the
Legion army list, and this set contains two Contemptor Dreadnoughts, a Relic
Contemptor Dreadnought, and six weapons: two Power Fists, an Assault Claw, a
Heavy Bolter, a Kheres Assault Cannon and a Multi-melta.
All these great value
seasonal bundles are available to order now for immediate despatch.
=========================================
ok so no new models but some good packages (albeit damned expensive ones) the termies for example saves you £22 on the individual prices and the legion squads could be useful for throwing together "current" 40k armies using HH minis. nice to see that they are considering the budget of their purchasers, slightly

Forge World Newsletter #325 - Legion Characters, Assault squads and weapons packs
As always all the important bits below:
=========================================
=========================================
Hi there, We’ve got a
packed newsletter for you today, with no less than four weapon sets, a character
set and a new squad. You’re rather spoiled for choice this week! Plus we can
still guarantee pre-Christmas delivery on all of these new releases. On the
subject of which, we’ve got a reminder of our ordering deadlines for the
festive season and also a new video on our YouTube channel!
Space
Marine Legion Champion and Master of Signal
Ranked below the Praetors, who command
the massed ranks of the Legiones Astartes into battle, is a substantial cadre
of battle commanders and officers who control and co-ordinate hundreds of
thousands of Space Marines across a given conflict. Commonly referred to as
Centurions, more specialised officers and ranks are also included under this
level in the chain of command. The Legion Champion and Master of Signal are two such commanders; both ranked
equally but with very different battlefield roles.
A Legion Champion’s sworn
task is to hunt down and slay the commanders and heroes of an enemy force in
single combat. Armed with the finest weapons available, these deadly fighters
embody the honour of their Legion.
A Master of Signal will
commonly be attached to the forward elements of a Space Marine assault,
providing communications support across the wider warzone, and is capable of
calling down a pinpoint bombardment from either orbiting fleet assets or static
artillery positions nearby, engulfing the foes of Mankind in flaming
destruction.
Designed by Mark Bedford, the Legion Champion and Master of Signal set comprises two detailed multi-part
resin miniatures, each a fantastic painting project and ideal centrepieces for
a Horus Heresy-era force. These models also make excellent characters in a 41st
Millennium Space Marine army, and this set is available to order now for
immediate despatch. Rules for fielding these characters in a Space Marine
Legion army can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal.
Legion MkII Assault Squad
Jump pack-equipped assault squads, whose wargear is optimised for close quarter fighting, fulfil much the same role among the Space Marine Chapters of the 41st Millennium as they did for the Legiones Astartes during the ancient and storied Great Crusade. Able to move with great speed across the battlefield and engage the foes of Mankind with savage force in bloody melee, it is a rare Space Marine force indeed that does not count these masterful warriors among its number.

The Legion MkII Assault Squad, designed by Will Hayes and
Phil Stucinskas,
comprises 5 detailed multi-part resin models armed with bolt pistols and
chainswords. The kit contains 2 different helmet designs and 5
differently-posed sets of legs which allow for great flexibility when
assembling the squad. The components are fully compatible with our existing MkII Space Marine Assault Squad as well as the rest of our range of
resin Space Marine infantry, and with Games Workshop’s plastic kits. The Legion
MkII Assault Squad is available to order now for immediate despatch.
Legion
Weapon Sets
First showcased on our Studio stand at
Games Day UK earlier this year, we’re excited to release four new weapon sets
this week: the Heavy Bolter Set, Autocannon Set, Volkite Charger Set and Volkite Caliver Set – all designed by Will Hayes.
‘Volkite’ is an arcane
Martian term for a variety of thermal ray weapons of ancient provenance, once
relatively common among the Legiones Astartes before the demands of the Great
Crusade outstripped supply. The Volkite Charger and Volkite Caliver sets each
contain ten detailed resin weapons which can be combined with our range of
resin Space Marine Legion Infantry to construct Legion Tactical Support
Squads and Breacher Siege Squads.
The Autocannon and Heavy
Bolter sets each contain five detailed resin weapons and an additional scanner
attachment, perfect for building Legion Heavy Support Squads in concert with
our Space Marine Legion Infantry sets. They can also be used with Games Workshop’s
range of plastic Imperial and Chaos Space Marines, allowing you to build
striking units of Devastators or Havocs.
All four of these weapon sets
are available to order now for immediate despatch, and rules for using these
weapons and squads can be found in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal.
Horus
Heresy Miniatures Gallery
We’ve added a new video to
the Forge World Visual Feed on YouTube, showcasing painted forces of the four
Legions featured in The Horus Heresy Book One: Betrayal.for you to admire, and perhaps gain
some festive inspiration from. These are handsomely displayed on painted
examples of Blake Spence’s Cityscape Tiles.
If you look closely you might
even see a few unreleased models, and these will be available to pre-order
within the next few weeks...

Once again some great models. more and more of this HH stuff looks like it was made just for my nice shiny mentor legion i keep fantasising about, well now it looks like it might happen :) the heavy weapons are great (heavy bolters are ideal for deathwatch) and the volkite weapons just scream plasma guns to me :)
